Alysa Liu is an American retired figure skater. She won a bronze medal in the 2022 Worlds and the CS Nebelhorn Trophy and Lombardia Trophy in the 2022 Winter Olympics. Her achievements were impressive, but what really made her stand out was her grace under pressure.

After competing in the 2018 Winter Olympics, Liu placed eighth in the short program and climbed to seventh place after the free skate. That put her three spots ahead of her next-to-last American, Mariah Bell. After the Olympics, Liu competed in the 2022 World Championships and won bronze. She is now the youngest U.S. woman to win a medal in women’s singles since 2006. Her Olympic victory came against a Russian team that had won the women’s ice hockey gold in the previous four Winter Olympics.

Alysa Liu was born on August 8, 2005. She has competed in many competitions and was the US national champion for two years. She was also a bronze medalist at the 2022 Worlds and won the CS Nebelhorn Trophy and Lombardia Trophy. She is retired from competitive figure skating. Alysa Liu was born in San Jose, California. She is a former member of Team USA.

Alysa Liu’s career has been marked by numerous firsts. She was the first American female to land a quad lutz and the youngest woman to do so at the U.S. Championships. Her second title was won in January 2020 and her first World Junior Championships appearance came in February 2020. She went on to win a bronze medal and was selected as the world’s youngest quad lutz.

Alysa Liu, 16, has been a national champion since she was 13. She helped Team USA secure the third spot in the 2014 Winter Olympics. Alysa Liu will be making her debut at the 2022 Winter Olympics. She says she plans to enjoy every minute of her Olympic journey. It’s hard to believe that she’s only sixteen. If you’re wondering how she balances her training at an elite label with normal teenage activities, Alysa Liu’s answers might surprise you.

Alysa Liu’s announcement is a shock to the figure skating world. Even though she hasn’t even graduated from high school, the 16-year-old has already announced her retirement from the sport. Despite her early age, she skated more than any other American woman at her first senior nationals and repeated her victory in 2020. At age 15, Liu’s performance at the national championships earned her the designation of 2022 Olympic athlete, but she ended up having to withdraw from the competition in early January because of her positive COVID-19 test. The result was that Liu was forced to withdraw from her second program at the 2022 national championships, a de facto Olympic trials event.

Alysa Liu’s Olympic journey was riddled with controversy. While her father was a political refugee, she had a plethora of supporters. Her father, Arthur, has spoken out against the Chinese Communist Party. During the Olympics, the pair was always next to each other’s accompanists. Liu’s retirement post reflected on the positive aspects of her skating career.
